Stayokay Amsterdam Vondelpark is a large international city hostel in a stunning location right in the heart of Vondelpark, with 564 beds and a cosy, trendy communal area. The second hostel, Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsdoelen, is the perfect base in the dynamic heart of Amsterdam! Housed in a beautifully renovated historic canal-side building, this location offers an unforgettable experience. Stayokay Amsterdam Oost is an international hostel located in an old trade school, in the middle of the trendy "Indische buurt" just 15 minutes away from the centre of Amsterdam. This is the largest Stayokay location and features a large terrace on Timorplein, a living area and restaurant The 5th.

For these three locations, we are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Maintenance Manager, Amsterdam (38 hours). In this role, you will lead the technical team and ensure that our hostels in Amsterdam run smoothly every day.

You will…

• coordinate major repairs and maintenance, in collaboration with the Facilities Management department and external contractors
• provide supportive leadership to the Technical Services team and ensure a pleasant working atmosphere
• keep track of the necessary materials and tools, so that everything is always in top condition
• ensure that all hostel facilities remain in perfect condition, and work closely with other departments such as reception, F&B and facilities to resolve issues quickly
• oversee fire and safety measures, so that everyone feels safe.

You have…

• experience in ho(s)tel maintenance or a similar role
• a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude!
• an eye for detail and the ability to ensure everything is in perfect order
• inspiring leadership qualities; you can organise, improvise and always keep track of the big picture
• the ability to stay calm under pressure and act quickly in emergency situations
• strong problem-solving skills
• willingness to work flexible hours, including at weekends
• an open mind, drive and an interest in people, the environment and making conscious choices in your day-to-day work

• a gross monthly salary of between €3,461.70 and €4,478.07 (pay scale 9 of the Hospitality CLA), depending on your knowledge and experience, based on full-time employment. In addition, you’ll accrue pension through the Hospitality & Catering Pension Fund and receive terms of employment in line with the Hospitality CLA, supplemented by Stayokay’s own company scheme and group discounts
